How the 'Kitty Distribution System' Brought My Fluffy Soulmate to Me
But about 11 years ago, everything changed... because of a cat I didnāt even know I was waiting for.
At the time, I loved solitude.
I didnāt want the responsibility of taking care anything but myself.
A pet? That felt like too much.
š± Divine (or Feline?) Intervention
My friendās mom had recently adopted a cat from the shelter.
But when she got there, a second little fluff named Perseus refused to let her leave without him.
So she brought him home too.
A few days later, we got a call:
āCome meet the new cats!ā

We did.
We were all sitting on the couch as the cats wandered around.
Perseus hopped from lap to lap, pausing briefly on each one... until he got to mine.
He sat.
He looked right into my eyes.
And he stayed.
Something clicked.
I nearly cried. š„¹
In that moment, I just knew:
āThis cat is meant for me.ā
But he wasnāt mine.
Little did I know, the Kitty Distribution System had already filed my application (more on that later). š¹
š Letting Go⦠Sort Of
On the way home, I couldnāt stop talking about him.
There was something between us I couldnāt explain, and definitely couldnāt shake.
I kept thinking of ways to go back. Excuses.
I was already halfway in.
But I took a breath, let it go, and told myself:
āMaybe this just isnāt meant to be.ā
⨠A Twist of Fate
Then⦠just a few days later, I got the call.
My friend was furious.
Apparently, Perseus and their other cat had gotten into a scuffle, and scratched the new leather couch. š
āI want him out of my house today,ā he said.
āCan you take him?ā
My heart skipped.
āYes⦠but only if heās mine for good.ā
If Perseus came home with me, he was never leaving again.
And he hasnāt.

šø The Universe Delivers in Mysterious Ways
Thereās a running joke online about the āKitty Distribution Systemā.Ā A mysterious force that matches humans with the cats they didnāt know they needed.
It's the Universe working in a fluffy disguise.
And Perseus?
Heās the best special delivery I couldāve asked for.
Sometimes, the things that ARE meant for us donāt show up the way we expect.
They come through detours, frustrations ā even scratched-up furniture. š
But when something flows into your life effortlessly, like Perseus did into mine, itās not random.
Itās a sign.
A whisper from the Universe.
A gentle yes.
Perseus showed up when I didnāt even know I needed him.
Heās been my companion, my healer, and my reminder that:
āThe best gifts are often the ones we never saw coming.ā

Thanks for reading our story.
Perseus and I are sending you warm purrs, huge hugs, and a reminder:
š« Youāre right where you need to be.
š The Universe always has your back.
With love,
Travis and Perseus š½
